The Turkey International Labor Organization office is located at Ankara. The ILO which was founded in 1919 aims at recognizing human and labor rights all over the world. The ILO has formulated international labor standards by setting up conventions and recommendations in order to establish basic rights of labors worldwide.

The main functions of the Turkey International Labor Organization are:
Representing Turkey in the international ILO
Promoting the ILO standards and policies in Turkey
Developing and implementing policies and programs of ILO in Turkey
Administering fellowship programs for Turkish nations outside the country as well as for foreign nationals within Turkey.
Collecting and analyzing information on Turkey
Maintaining the ILO Ankara Information Resource center and Publication Sales Program.
The most significant of Turkey International Labor Organization projects is the IPEC which was set up to fight child labor in Turkey. Since 1992 101 action programs have been implemented. 60% of the working children have been taken out from work and placed in schools. The remaining 40% have received improved working conditions, health, nutrition and vocational training. Another Program is the Social Dialogue-Unregistered Employment. It focused on the field of employment promotion and unregistered employment. The program aimed at the use of social dialogues to reduce unregistered employment and is a long term program.
