In historical time the Turkish race made a very wide and vast kingdom that included several other regions with their varied culture and practices. Turkish clothing includes several styles of dressing. Some were extremely popular and has been passed from generation till this modern time with a number of variations. 'Kaftan' is one such Turkish cloth that was extremely popular among the Turkish women. This is a kind of wrapping up dress that has two parts of cloth to wear under the Kaftan. The upper part of the dress is known by several names like, 'gomlek', 'entari' and the lower part of the dress is known as 'salvar', 'potur' etc. There are several other famous Turkish clothing like, zivga, cepken, Islik, Azeri and many more.
An important part of the Turkish clothing had been the belts and shoes also. They are also known by several names in Turkish tradition. Some of these are kusak that is a kind of belt, basmak foot wear and many more.
