Izmir International Festival is organized by Izmir Culture, Art and Education Foundation. People believe that this will make an important contribution to Izmir's candidacy for the EXPO 2015. Izmir International Festival 2007 is the 21st Festival. Maurice Bejart, Robin Gibb was among the guests.
Beginning in the mid-June it continues till mid-July. It has been organized since 1987. Some of the great soloists, virtuosi, orchestras, dance troupes, rock and jazz groups come to join the festival. These includes groups like

The performances take place at different venues in the city and also in the surrounding area which include ancient theaters at Ephesus and Metropolis. Since 2003 Izmir International Festival is the member of “European Festivals Association”.
The Izmir Foundation for Culture, Arts and Education organize the Izmir European jazz Festival since 1994. The aim of this festival is to bring together the masters and lovers of jazz to generate a feeling of love, friendship and peace.
Izmir International Festival reflects the lively spirit of the local people. It is an integrated part of “Beautiful Izmir”. It describes the deep rooted credentials of the city as a cultural center.
