Carthage National Museum: Among the museums in Tunisia, this is located on the Byrsa hill. The museum has a large collection of sculptures, ceramics, mosaics, architectural remnants and inscriptions. Displayed at the museum are objects excavated from the fourteenth century and henceforth. The ancient period is represented in its three libraries. National Bardo Museum: This museum is housed in the beylical palace belonging to the fourteenth century. Previously this museum was known as the Alaoui museum. Presently, Bardo Museum has the largest assemblage in the world of mosaics belonging to the Roman era in Tunisia. The entire museum is divided into sections according to eras. These include Roman, pre history, Christian, Punic era and the like.
El Jem Museum: This museum is dedicated to the El Jem period exhibiting a wide range of exquisite mosaics.
