Situated on the slopes of the rocky hill of Cap Carthage the beautiful small village Sidi Bouzid is located at an elevation of 330ft, above the sea level. The fame of the village rests upon the works of the three young painters. These painters are August Macke, Louis Moillet and Paul Klee, who visited Sidi Bouzid in the year 1914. They portrayed the beautiful pictures of the village.
History of Sidi Bouzid
In the eighteenth century, Sidi Bouzid was captured by Husseinite dynasty. The dynasty along with its culture and religion brought many top class writers and musicians. Since then, Sidi Bouzid gained its repute as an artists' village.

The best time to visit Sidi Bouzid is in the summer months. Several cafeterias, souvenir shops, historical places attracts guests from all over the world. In the August the Kharja religious festival also attract worshipers from every corner of Tunisia.

Suburban railways and buses ply to and fro the northwest of Tunisia. People can also avail air services from the airport crossing the Lac de Tunis. Even though car service is not available, visitors can avail taxis from Tunis.
Being the artist's village, Sidi Bouzid has now become one of the significant resorts in Tunisia.
