The small ancient town in north-central Tunisia, which consist of the eminent Forum temples of Tunisia is Sbeitla. Previously the town was inhabited by some nomadic tribes after that it was constructed by the Romans in the second century. Presently the town has become the residue of the ruins.
The best time to visit is in the month of May and October. The climate of Sbeitla is hot as sunshine prevails almost throughout the year. Spring comes from the month of March till May.
The town consist of archaeological treasures, sun and sand. The popular attractions of Sbeitla are :
- The Forum consists of large rooms which is bounded by wall and all are made of stone.
- The Antonine Gateway depicts the story of Emperor Antonius Pious. It is the gateway of the Forum.
- The Church of Bellator, Vitalis and the Servus the Priest contains the ancient mosaics and were devoted in the honor of Catholic Bishop Jucundus.
- The Three Temples does not indicate to whom it was dedicated. It was assumed by the archeologist these temples were dedicated to three Roman Pantheon divinities such as Juno, Jupiter and Minerva.
- The Arch of Triumph to the Tetrarchy was built in the honor of four Emperors in 300 A.D. as they jointly ruled the town.
Sbeitla also consists of three fountains, forts and also theaters to entertain the visitors from all over the world.
