Location of Nafta
Nafta is situated at 33°53'N, 7°53'E, very near to the border of Algeria, which is exactly north to the Schott Dscherid Salt Plain.
Reaching Nafta
Nafta can be easily accessed by flight to Tozeur from which there are frequent dependable bus services to Nafta, which has a bus station called the Gare Routière on the only main road of the town. Regular bus services are also available to Gafsa, and a once a day bus runs to Hazaoua and
Douz.

Nafta is a place of pilgrimage for devotees of Islam and for followers of Sufism, the awesome impressive beauty of the deserts of Sahara, and the tranquil serenity of the date palm surrounded oasis moves and captures even the most unfeeling heart. One can make day trips to the Nefzaoua and Tozeur oases, the Seldja Gorge or the Chott el Djerid. There are provisions for spending nights at Bedouin tents on the Sahara as well as camel rides over the dunes.

Although earlier Nafta had only one hotel, the super luxurious Caravanserail, which has even hosted kings and queens along with other celebrities, tourist attraction of Sahara is now creating a demand for more hotels in the area. This has lead to the growth of a few new hotels with advanced amenities. But Caravanserail has kept up its reputation and is still serving its guests with a smile.
