The Trinidad And Tobago Parliament is located at the Red House which is a symbol of the nation's democratic government. The parliamentary administration in Trinidad and Tobago constitutes the legislative branch of the country's administration. The parliament of Trinidad and Tobago comprises the President of the country, the Senate and the House of the representatives. The office of the parliament is handled by the Clerk of the House, followed by the Clerk of the senate. The chief function of all the units of the Parliament office is to provide specialized support to the main divisions of the parliament in terms of non-political and administrative matters.
The President of Trinidad and Tobago is responsible to the proceedings of the parliament as far as the summoning, postponement and dissolution of Parliament is concerned. The House of Representatives in the Trinidad and Tobago Parliament are the representative heads of the thirty six constituencies presided over by the Speaker, special to the House of Representatives. The Senate of the Trinidad and Tobago parliament functions to bring forth non-money bill issues such as social concerns that needs more detailed attention.
The office of the parliament comprises of many units, each of which are equally important for the parliament operation. The office include the Secretariat, Office Of Marshal, Office of Leader of opposition, human resource unit, hansard unit, information technology unit, communications unit and a library.
