The contribution of the important industries based in the country is immense in the prosperity of the social structure. There are important industries like the oil and natural gas, iron and steel and other heavy metal industries both owned by the government and other foreign companies. Besides Trinidad and Tobago exports sugar, cocoa, oil, urea, steel, natural gas. This earns a good amount of foreign exchange.
