After a hectic and fun-filled day of sightseeing, I wanted to sit back, relax, and enjoy my evening. I could not find a better way to do this than to rejuvenate and pamper myself with a comfortable and exciting Dhow Cruise in Dubai. I had booked the cruise in advance. It was 6:00 p.m., and as I set out the Dubai Creek area came alive with the hustle and bustle of visitors and dhows lined along the Dubai creek shore, well-decked up with shimmering lights, to welcome their passengers on board.

A dhow, also known as dolphin, is a large wooden boat with two levels of seating arrangements. The lower deck seating is in air-conditioned cabins, while the upper deck is usually an open-air seating arrangement for those who want to enjoy a breath of the fresh breeze. A dhow offers a comfortable seating arrangement with dinner and entertainment on board. As you hop on a dhow, an evening full of entertainment, Bedouin hospitality and entertainment starts unfolding before you, and it’s time to experience a two hour-long fun-filled and entertaining journey through Dubai’s past and present.
As we started cruising through the creek, we could see both sides of it edged by vividly lit glitzy buildings, shops, hotels, and heritage sites, offering an enchanting view. Keep your camera handy as there may be many vantage points where you may just want to capture an incredible moment forever. You are transported into altogether a different world of both modern structures and old-world charm, walking hand-in-hand with each other. Dubai Creek epitomizes the true spirit of Dubai’s old and new world charm. A traditional Arabic drink (Kahweh), tea, coffee and non-alcoholic soft drinks are served on-board. While these were being served, a Tanoura dancer started his performance in his glowing LED-lit costume. Twirling round and round he performed amazingly well, in time to captivating traditional Arab music. This was followed by a magic show, though I was busy glancing at the creek-side buildings offering some of the most memorable views which I didn’t wanted to miss.
After few exciting performances, it is now time to enjoy a sumptuous BBQ dinner with multi-cuisine delicacies. Two hours of the cruise just passed by before I even realized it, and then it was time to alight from my dhow. Welcome aboard an experience full of moonlight, cool breeze, sumptuous dinner, and complete entertainment… this is a dhow cruise in Dubai for you; do experience it once and you’re sure to enjoy it!
