Completed in 1653, the Taj Mahal was built by the Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
The Taj Majal is built in the style of the Mughal Empire, with Persian influences and delicate designs.

The Emperor Shah Jahan had his late wife, Mumtaz Mahal entombed at the center of the Taj Mahal. After his death, Jahan joined his wife in the tomb of the Taj Mahal. Surrounding the Taj Mahal complex is a large garden, with lawns, fountains, and a long reflecting pool that reflects the Taj.

To view the beauty of the Taj Majal, the best time to visit is at dawn or dusk, when visitors can see the glittering Taj in the moonlit night.
