Van Gogh Museum

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam houses a mammoth collection of Van Gogh's paintings along with paintings of many of his renowned contemporaries. This is the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings. Of the other points of focus of the Van Gogh museum is the history of the nineteenth century. There are five periods of development of Van Gogh's paintings, classified as the Netherlands, Arles, Paris, Auvers-sur-Oise and Saint-Remy. The arrangement of the paintings of the other artists has been carefully done so as to provide proper comparison studies for art scholars.

Reaching Van Gogh Museum

The Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam is located in between the Stedelijk Museum and the Rijksmuseum, in the Museum quarter of Amsterdam. Transportation by tram is possible from the central station. There are two direct trams to this place. In case a visitor is too old or somehow is unable to walk, the museum authorities avail the victors with wheel chairs.

Willing visitors may access the museum all round the year except of the New Year Day of January 1st. It remains from 10 in the morning to 6 in the evening. Visitors might also avail themselves a guide for a group of fifteen.
