The school was named John M. Olin School of Business in honor of John M. Olin, the Chairman of the Olin Corporation and a major benefactor of Washington University. Having fully accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, Olin School of Business formed in 1917, attracts top faculty and students to its highly successful and leading programs.
The school began its first undergraduate business degree in 1919, MBA program in 1950, a doctoral program in 1958, an executive MBA in 1983 and a Shanghai-based Executive MBA in 2002 jointly with Fudan University.
