The Kenan-Flagler Business School, the well-known leading business school under the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was founded in 1919. The school formed as the Department of Commerce of UNC Chapel Hill's College of Arts, was renamed the Kenan-Flagler Business School in 1991 as a mark of respect to the two prominent American business families and benefactors of the school Mary Lily Kenan Flagler and her husband, Henry Morrison Flagler.
