Flora or vegetation of a country does play a significant role in that country's economic development. The flora and fauna of a country directly depends on the climate and land structure. The position of that country also plays a pivotal role in determining the type of flora or vegetation of that country. Flora of a country increases the attraction of the tourists. In East Timor also, we can see how the climatic conditions controls the flora and fauna of this country on the eastern part of the Timor Island.
When we look at East Timor, we find that there are some mountains in the central part of the country and they are covered with thick and green forest. On the misty mornings, the tourists can feel the beauty and pleasure of being in the paradise when they look at those mountains. The country is very close to the Equator. East Timor, therefore, is very hot and each year it rains a lot here. Due to this heavy rainfall, we find secondary forests, Savannah and grasslands here in the East Timor. Here we also find a small area of Mangrove Forest which occupies only 7,500 acres of land. In areas like Tibar and Maubara, we find marshy and swampy terrains.
The East Timor is full of lush green forests, especially when we look at the mountains in the central part of the country. But the forests were not really performing any significant role in the economic structure of the country. But the situation has changed a lot these days. The government is taking initiatives to showcase the beauty of the flora and as a result, the place is gradually drawing the attention from the tourists worldwide.
