East Timor Natural resources are a subject of envy to the neighboring countries. Mother nature has blessed this small nation with a variety of natural resources. Some of these natural resources include gold, petroleum, natural gas, manganese and marble. These valuable natural resources are found scattered all over the country. The East Timor government is very conscious about using this huge stock of natural resources. They are aware of the scarcity of the natural resources like petroleum all over the world. So they are sensibly using their stock of this “liquid gold”.
The country of East Timor, long long ago, was full of forests and wild creatures. Due to some earthquake or other natural calamities the trees and animals were buried under the soil. After thousands of years the huge pressure and temperature caused the metamorphosis. As a result, we now get what we call petroleum. But a large amount of petroleum in East Timor is also found in the bottom of the sea. Except there enviable stock of petroleum, there are many gold mines in East Timor. A good number of workers earn their bread and butter from here. There are some mines here in East Timor where we find manganese ores as well. The country is also blessed with marble mines. The quality of manganese and marble found here is pretty high. East Timor, therefore, occupies a special position in the global map regarding the quality of natural resources.
East Timor is also enriched with a huge stock of natural gas. A nation such immensely blessed by mother nature is always envied by neighboring countries. East Timor is no exception. The government was facing some political unrest with the Australian Government regarding their stock of petroleum. But now both nations have come to a peaceful agreement which increases the possibility of a more strong economic structure of East Timor based on their natural resources.
