When we search for animals in East Timor we are amazed to see the variety of wild creatures there. This variety of animals in East Timor largely depends on the climate and land forms here. The mountains at the heart of the country are covered with dense forests. These forests are the domicile of a large number of animals in East Timor. Except these mountains, there are number of rivers in the country where dwells some of the rare and fierce creatures.
As we have mentioned earlier, the mountain forests in East Timor are full of a variety of endangered species. East Timor is a country very near to the Equator. We, therefore, find tropical climate in the country. Such a climate is often enjoyed by the reptiles. We find a wide variety of snakes in the country. There are pythons, vipers and cobras all over the forest region. But there is one rare type of animal found in the forests of East Timor. They are called Badak Jawa. They are actually a rare species of one horned rhinos. This animal is found particularly in certain places in Indonesia and East Timor. Crocodiles are also found in this country. There are different types of Crocodiles found in East Timor, from Alligators to small fish eating crocodiles.
In the coastal areas of East Timor, we find some rare animals of the water kingdom. We can enjoy the beautiful bottlenose dolphins, whales and dugongs playing in the sea waves. A variety of sea turtles and sea tortoise are found here as well. So when the tourists come here to enjoy the scenic beauty of East Timor, this rich variety of animal kingdom will left them spellbound.
