The annual production of coffee in East Timor is about 10,000 tonnes. Coffee generates revenue of around $20 million per year. Other revenue generating export commodities of East Timor are sandalwood and coconut. Sandalwood grows in the hilly areas of East Timur and is an export item. East Timor being half island has coconut trees growing near its shores. The coconuts are exported to different countries from East Timur.
