Evoking the horrible memories of Sichuan earthquake in May 12, which killed 69,207 and injured several thousands, an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck Qingchuan county in Sichuan on Tuesday, August 5. One person was killed and 23 injured in Yaodu Township, which was also severely affected by May 12 quake. Communications in Yaodu were disrupted as a result of Tuesday's quake.On the same day aftershocks, which had an epicentre about 10 km down the earth, struck Qingchuan, even as the tremors were felt in the cities of Hanzhong and Xi'an in Shaanxi province as well as in Chongpinq. Panic stricken people ran out of the buildings in these cities.
