The foreign Consulate in Thailand is usually housed in a separate building with clear boundaries from the adjacent urban structures. The head of the foreign Consulate is the Consul General of that particular mission. The Consulate in Thailand enjoys extraterritorial status under international law. The foreign Consulates are not under the jurisdiction laws of the home country.
The administrative structure of the foreign Consulate depends upon the functions conducted by the foreign diplomatic mission. The foreign Consulate has a Consul General at its helm. The Consul General is supported in his endeavors by different departments housed within the consulate. The various departments are the Consular Section, Political Section, Public Affairs Section and the Administrative Section.
