Thailand Consulate

Thailand is visited by a number of tourists from all over the world. The Thailand Consulate is responsible for granting appropriate travel information to the visitor.

The Thailand Consulate is a diplomatic representation of the foreign country in Thailand outside the capital city of the host country. For example, the United States Consulate located in Phuket serves the people of that region. The principal diplomatic mission of United States of America or Embassy of United States of America is situated in the capital city of Thailand-Bangkok.

The foreign Consulate in Thailand is usually housed in a separate building with clear boundaries from the adjacent urban structures. The head of the foreign Consulate is the Consul General of that particular mission. The Consulate in Thailand enjoys extraterritorial status under international law. The foreign Consulates are not under the jurisdiction laws of the home country.

The administrative structure of the foreign Consulate depends upon the functions conducted by the foreign diplomatic mission. The foreign Consulate has a Consul General at its helm. The Consul General is supported in his endeavors by different departments housed within the consulate. The various departments are the Consular Section, Political Section, Public Affairs Section and the Administrative Section.
