Masters Series Monte-Carlo is held at Monte Carlo in Monaco. The event is also known as Monte Carlo Masters. The tournament is included in the schedule of the Association of Tennis Professionals or ATP Tour as a part of the ATP Masters Series.
Masters Series Monte Carlo is considered to be one of the top tennis tournaments played. Before its inclusion in the ATP Masters Series , the tournament was known as Monte Carlo Open. The event was introduced to the tennis world back in 1897. Since 1969, the event is competed as an Open tournament. The schedule of the Masters Series Monte Carlo includes both singles and doubles competitions.

Masters Series Monte Carlo has been held annually since its appearance in the domain of international tennis. The Masters Series Monte Carlo is played on clay courts. The tournament is usually held in the months of April and May every year. The 2007 Masters Series Monte Carlo was held between April 16 and 22. The format followed during the tournament is 64 draws format. During the 2007 Masters Series Monte Carlo , the winners of the event received € 2,082,500 as prize money.

Masters Series Monte Carlo has been one of the most prestigious tournaments in the circuit of men's tennis. After becoming an Open Tournament, the first singles competition was won by Tom Okker in 1969. Rafael Nadal won the singles title at the 2007 Masters Series Monte Carlo. The doubles competition was won by Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan. Rafael Nadal won the tournament on three consecutive occasions from 2005. Other famous tennis players, who have won this prestigious tournament, are Guillermo Coria, Juan Carlos Ferrero , Gustavo Kuerten, Carlos Moya, Marcelo Rios, Thomas Muster, Andrei Medvedev, Sergi Bruguera , Ivan Lendl, Guillermo Vilas, Bjorn Borg , Raul Ramirez, Manuel Orantes, Andrew Pattison, Emilio Sanchez , Boris Becker, Michael Stich, Tim Henman, Todd Woodbridge and Nenad Zimonjic. Indian tennis players, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi have also won the doubles titles on two different occasions. Nenad Zimonjic was the partner of Paes, while Max Mirnyi was the partner of Bhupathi.
