Challenger Tennis

Challenger Tennis is one of the major tournaments for the up-coming tennis players that gives them quite an amount of ATP points for which they battle each other on the courts. These are extremely coveted by most of the young players because these points act as their tickets to the major tennis tournaments of the world, thus giving them a chance to experience the top level tournaments of their profession. It is through these Challenger tennis that the players who had gone ahead to reign world tennis, had started their professional career.

Challenger Tennis has been a part of the ATP or Association of Tennis Professionals tour which has been held in a number of countries. More than a hundred countries around the world holds the challenger trophies giving a chance to the youngsters to leave their mark with their performance in the court. Some of the venues which does not have any ATP fixture also get a chance to stage the Challenger Tennis. These include places like Poland, Vietnam, Slovenia or Hungary. The total prize money in the different fixtures of Challenger Tennis of 2006 was a huge sum of over $8 million, though in each tournament, the prize money varied between $25,000 and $125,000.




The Challenger Tennis is one of the major tennis tours of the world. Giving a chance to the young and inexperienced players, it plays a major role in their career by placing them in the professional level of tennis.
