Tennis scores are an important part of the game which helps the players, umpires and also the spectators to keep a track on the way a game is moving. The scoring system in tennis is completely different from any other game. A tennis match consists of a number of sets which a player has to win to grab the match. These sets again can be won by winning the games which comprise a set. A player has to win at least six games and be two games ahead of his opponent to win the set. When tied at six games each, a set needs a tie-break to produce a result.
To win each game, a player has to win at least four points which are counted as “fifteen”, “thirty”, “forty” and “game”. When the score of a game is tied at forty for both the players, it is called a “ deuce ”. To win the game from then on, a player has to win two points in a row. With the first point he reaches the “ advantage ” and the second point wins the game for him. Losing a point while on advantage, takes the game back to the deuce.
