Tennis Strategy

Tennis strategy is one of the main things needed by a player to win a game as it strengthens his own game-play and on the other hand try to exploit the weaknesses of his opponents. Usually a player develops his own strategy of playing the game. As a result, different players approach the game with strategies completely different from one another. The players try to use the actions, they know is their strength, more and more in the game. Depending on the strategies they use, the players have been categorized as the baseliners, volleyers and all-court players .

Baseliners mainly love to play from the baseline, primarily depending upon the groundstrokes . They hardly come up to the net but instead love playing from the baseline making shots in different directions. There are two kinds of baseliners- aggressive and defensive . Some famous baseliners of all ages are Ivan Lendl, Andre Agassi, Monica Seles, Steffi Graf, Bjorn Borg and Martina Hingis. Servers and volleyers, who love to play at the net, use their great volleys. Some famous names like Boris Becker, Goran Ivanisevic and Martina Navratilova were great volleyers. Players like Don Budge, Amelie Mauresmo and Roger Federer are some of the brilliant all-court players having an attacking game with a blend of groundshots and volleys.
