Tanzania Visa

Tanzania visa is a mandatory requirement to visit the country of exotic beaches, sunny islands, volcanic mountains and numerous wildlife national parks and bio-reserves. Usually visas for Tanzania are not issued to the tourists or visitors prior to their journey. Tanzania government issues visa on arrival at the airport on a meager payment of $50. Nationals from non-Commonwealth countries must acquire valid visas before leaving for Tanzania. Residents of commonwealth countries except UK, India, Nigeria and Canada do not require visas to enter Tanzania.

Tanzania visa is issued by the Director of Immigration Services in Dar es Salam and by the Principal Immigration Officer of Zanzibar. There are four points of entry to Tanzania from where visas can be obtained. They are at the Dar es Salam International Airport, Namanga Border, Kilimanjaro International Airport and Zanzibar International Airport.

There are four types of Tanzania visa issued to the visitors of Tanzania apart from the transit visas. Ordinary Visa, Referred Visa, Multiple Entry Visa and Business Visa are four types of visas issued. In Tanzania, visa is also granted on showing a return ticket from Tanzania. This ensures that the person has enough funds for making a return to his/her original country.

Tanzanian visa can be applied by post as well as online. Normally three days are required for processing a visa, but for postal applications minimum of ten working days are required. A permit visa of three months for tourists and single entry business visa for two months are granted.
