Tanzania Government

Every civilized country of the world has a government, until and unless it is under the jurisdiction of some other nation. Tanzania government is formed under the framework of a unitary presidential democratic republic. After gaining independence from foreign rule in 1964, Tanzania has organized Presidential and Parliamentary elections after every five years. The last elections were held in the year 2005. The president of Tanzania acts as the supreme head of the state as well as the head of the government in Tanzania.

The Tanzania government acts according to the country's constitution, which was reformed in the year 1984. The president of Tanzania is also elected by the people of the country apart from the other legislative and political parties of the country. There are three branches or levels at which the government of Tanzania operates. The executive powers are vested with the government, while the legislative powers can be exercised both by the parliament as well as by the government of Tanzania. The judiciary of the country is independent of both the legislature and the executive body of the government.

After Tanzania opted for a multi-party system, the political system of the country has become even more interesting. The government of Tanzania formulates several rules and policies for the growth and development of both the country and the people of Tanzania.
