Tajikistan Society

At the dawn of the 1900s, it became predominantly evident that the Tajikistan society was extremely conservative as women who dared to wander outside their abode without a veil were entirely blackballed from the social sphere without putting any second thought into it. Sometimes, in the Tajikistan society to penalize the culprits, the barbarous public even killed them brutally as a consequence of the sin that they had committed by disgracing their families and loved once.

But with the advent of the 1930s, women started to be treated with much more respect and esteem in the society of Tajikistan as campaigns aiming towards equality of the female gender were in full swing. It was the Soviet authorities who took it as their responsibility to put an end to this evil and inhuman practice.

The women relished further authority when they were endowed with the opportunity to join civil jobs as their partners had to provide services in the dreaded World War II. At one time in the midst of the 1980s, the females constituted approximately 51% of the population and also dominated the work sphere.

The Tajik society that comprised of Tajik pioneers embraced the culture and tradition bequeathed to the Islamic world that spread its illustrious wing across vast stretches of India and some parts that fall under the eastern wing of the Mediterranean Sea. With the advent of the Soviet epoch, westernized art, various foreign publishing and media craze penetrated into the society of Tajiks and cemented its position.

Poets hailing from Persia like Abul Quasim Lahuti flourished during that period. Although, the rural settlements had the upper hand over the urban population but things started to alter during the later half of the 1990s. Survey has determined that most of the inhabitants of Tajikistan prefer to live in families rather than alone.
