Tajikistan time is five hours ahead of Greenwich Meantime or the Universal Coordinated Time. In fact, it can be said that the time of Tajikistan is 5 hours plus the time at Greenwich, the International Standard Time.
To begin with, we can say that Tajikistan is situated at 38º38' North latitude and 68º51' East longitude, and it is this location that determines the local time of Tajikistan, in keeping with the International Standard Time.
Talking about the time at Tajikistan, it can be said that there is no adjustment for daylight savings in time in Tajikistan. Moreover, the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast, also known as GBAO, is the official time of Tajikistan. The time zone here is similar to the rest of the country; but the local people seems to follow a different time. According to the calculations of the local people, the GBAO should be 6 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time, that is to say, in spite of being 5 hours ahead of the International Standard Time, the difference should be 6 hours plus.
But, this difference in time at Tajikistan might cause problems for the travelers, because they might not know the disparity in the time difference and, thus, get confused. Therefore, it is mandatory for the traveler to be aware of the difference in the Tajikistan time. Moreover, before the tourists make arrangements for visiting Badakhshan, they should check whether the time schedule for the travel implies 'Dushanbe time' or 'Pamiri time', because there is marked difference in both the times.
