Aral Sea

The Aral Sea is well-dispersed in the midst of the region that is flanked by Kazakhstan towards its northern fringe and a self-reliant area designated as Karakalpakstan towards the southern periphery. The Aral Sea had been steadily declining in its water content as the Amu Darya and Syr Darya that were virtually feeding it were being used by the Soviet Union that had existed at that time. Actually, the Soviet Union deviated the Amu and Syr Darya in order to solve the irrigation problems.

The Aral Sea at Tajikistan also relishes the reputation of being the most humongous salty reservoir in this whole planet. The area beleaguering the Aral Sea are the scorching deserts of Central Asia. The sea level is approximately 53 meters below the Aral Sea which functions as a mammoth body concerned with evaporation. The amount of water that gets converted into steam per year from the Aral Sea is an astonishing 60 square kilometers.

The effect on the weather

In the last decade or so, the Aral Sea of Tajikistan had truly influenced the climatic settings by drawing chilled wind from the territory of Siberia. Thus, the beleaguering regions of the Aral Sea at Tajikistan are bestowed with an extended and more freezing winter and a reduced summer. The rate of rainfall was also abridged to remarkable levels at the brink of the Aral Sea with an average of approximately 150 – 200 millimeters. Owing to the huge loss of water in the gaseous form, the summer temperatures have soared up to an utmost of 49 degree centigrade.

Alteration in the texture of the turf

The phenomenon of drying up of the Aral Sea in Tajikistan has also led to the unprecedented birth of scorching deserts that belong to different categories.
