Sun Moon Lake of Taiwan

The Sun Moon Lake of Taiwan is known as the Central Pearl of Taiwan and is also the largest natural lake in Taiwan. The eastern part of the lake is round like the sun, while the western part is
shaped like a crescent moon-thus the name of the lake is Sun Moon Lake.

The Sun-Moon Lake, located in the middle of Taiwan, with an elevation of 748 meters above sea level, is the only big natural lake in Taiwan. The southern part of Kuang-Hua Island surrounding the lake is shaped like a new moon, and the northern part is shaped like a sun; hence the name Sun-Moon Lake.
