Mandarin

Mandarin or Beifanghua is the official modern Chinese spoken language used by the People's Republic of China.

The phonetics of Mandarin is based on Chinese dialects spoken across most of the northern and south western China. When taken as a separate language, it is often taught in Academic Literature. Mandarin is diverse group of dialects some less mutually intelligible than others. And not used much outside the academic reasons. The Standard Mandarin is more common among the people of China, Taiwan and Singapore. It has a Beijing accent. Usually only the Beijing can speak Standard Mandarin. Mandarin basically portrays the spoken Chinese.

Dialects of Mandarin can be divided into 8 distinct dialects: Beijing Mandarin, North eastern Mandarin, Ji Lu Mandarin, Jiao Liao Mandarin, Zhonngyuan Mandarin, Lan Yin Mandarin, South Western Mandarin and Jianghuai Mandarin. Mandarin like the most Chinese languages is syllable timed unlike many other languages which are stressed timed. The writing for all varieties of mandarin is based on a set of written symbols that have been altered a little with passing years.

Originally written Chinese was discovered that usually represented the way the people spoke. Called the Classical Chinese or Literary Chinese, is much more concise than spoken Chinese. Today Mandarin is the main language spoken by the government the media and education in China has made efforts to make mandarin an official language among the rest 4 official languages of China. There are approximately 870 million people speaking Mandarin.

People have to learn the grammar and Vocabulary of Mandarin in order to write and read in Chinese.
