The tensions between China and Taiwan started since 1949 during the Chinese Revolution, when Communists led by Chairman Mao claimed control over the mainland.
The political status of Taiwan is a disputative issue. The People's Republic of China appears to find the retention of the name as ' Republic of China'. With the rise of Taiwanese independence movement the name Taiwan came into light more increasingly and more frequently on the island. The People's Republic of China has been trying to abolish the Republic of China and rename it permanently as Republic of Taiwan. This will probably enhance the military power. United States demands the Taiwan Issue to get resolved soon but neither an unprovoked invasion of People’s Republic of China nor a formal declaration of independence by Taiwan is acceptable.
Taiwan Province is the only province government to remain fully functional under Republic of China jurisdiction. It is streamlined with maximum responsibility assumed. Taiwan's quick industrial growth since the latter half of the twentieth century. This development has been termed as the Taiwan Economic Miracle.
The most persistent problem Taiwan faces is that of China's threat to use armed force if it declares itself as the independent province of China. Beijing has refused to accept Taiwan as sovereign government with standing equal to China itself. In comparison to China, Taiwan is superior by many reasons such as the military base that is reequipped with modern aircraft. However, China and Taiwan lacks to go along well with co operating relation, Taiwan may see an independent future very soon.
