Sabah Fakhri when his name was recognized in the Guinness Book of Records for his artistry in Caracas where he continuously sang for 10 hours.
Sabah Fakhri was born in the year of 1933. He gained recognition as a revered singer from Aleppo in Northern Syria. He was gifted with a powerful and charming voice since his birth. He made a revolution in the music of the Arabic world by popularizing the then withering form of orthodox Arabic music, 'qudood' and 'muwashahat'.
Sabah Fakhri has mesmerized his audience with his immaculate execution of 'maqamat' and harmony as well as his magnetic performances for years. He has a huge number of admirers all across the world and to many of them he represents the icon singer of the traditional 'tarab'.
Since his childhood,
Sabah Fakhri was determined to build up a career in the stream of music. And to chase his dream, he registered himself into the Academy of Arabic Music of Aleppo. Later he enrolled into the Academy of Damascus where from he earned his graduation degree in 1948. To learn further,
Sabah Fakhri moved to Cairo in Egypt where he learned under the music masters of that time. From that point of time he started performing concerts in Syria.
