Varberg is a city of Sweden in Halland County. It is located in southwest part of Sweden, situated at 57°07'N, 12°13'E. The approximate population of Varberg is 25,000. Varberg is highly popular for its typical 'west coast' sandy beaches.
In the north of Varberg, the coast changes from the wide sandy beaches to the rocky land. Varberg is indeed a wonderful summer resort and many inhabitants from industrial cities such as Boras are seen to be moving to Varberg for spending their vacation.

Varberg is situated in a terrain of hills and plains. This place is without trees, here one can see only bald rocks and sand. The sandy beaches are however very famous during the summer time. Another major attraction of Varberg is its natural surroundings. It offers a wide variety of landscapes ranging from rolling mountains and lakes and forests to coastal areas.

Varberg is an ancient business centre. Varberg's fortress is probably the most remarkable historical building that has an unique architectural style. In 1280 it was first constructed as a castle, with new parts being built later on.

There is the VLF transmitter Grimeton, very close to Varberg. It is an interesting radio technical facility and classified by UNESCO to be a World Cultural Heritage. During summer time it can be visited.

In Varberg there are several things and places that should not be missed out while traveling across this city. A very old apartment on Garveregatan is probably one among them. It is the worlds smallest apartment situated in the West of Euopre.
