Kungsbacka is situated in the south western region of Sweden. Kungabacka falls under the Halland County and is the seat of the Kungsbacka Municipality. The co-ordinates of Kungsbacka lies between 57o29'N to 12o04'E. The total population of Kungsbacka is estimated to be around 18,000 persons.
Kungsbacka is considered to be one of the most wealthy part of Sweden. The proximity of the big city of Gothenburg favors the affluence of Kungsbacka. Kungsbacka has a great combination of the city life and the beautiful and picturesque location of the countryside.
Initially, Kungsbacka was a part of Denmark and it remained the same since the 15th century. Kungsbacka became a part of Sweden in the year 1658. During this time Kungsbacka was more famous as a place of naval commerce. In earlier days the river was used for the transportation of goods.
Kungabacka is an important commercial center of today. Some 20,000 businesses are carried over in Kungsbacka. The river still bears significance and great importance in the field of trade, although it has lessened with time.
Kungsbacka also faced a major tragedy in the year 1846 when the town was burnt down. The only building that was spared from the deadly fire was a red wooden hut which still stands as it was. The town again faced a similar fire break in the year 2006 and great efforts are made to reconstruct Kungsbacka.
Kungsbacka has attracted tourists from near and far with its combination of affluent economy and beautiful landscape.
