Mountains of Spain with fertile valleys and large areas under pasture, covered with forests.

The primary peaks are Pico de Aneto (3,404 m/11,168 ft) in the Pyrenees and Mulhacén (3,478 m/11,411 ft) in the Penibéticas.
The Canary Islands have a ruggedly mountainous terrain interspersed with some fertile valleys. The Balearic Islands also combine steep mountains with rolling, fertile ranges. Atlantic climate predominate the northern coast of Spain Mountains with an average temperature of 9 degree Centigrade in winter and 18 degree Centigrade in summer and annual rainfall of 965 mm.
The rugged relief of the terrain of
Spain Mountains and the altitude affect the occurence of the diverse types of vegetation. On the Dhady foothills of the mountain ranges oaks groves are plenty while holm oaks and other similar trees tend to thrive out in the open. The higher altitude of the terrain is predominated by beech and chestnut According to the soil type reforestation has added various species or spruces and even higher alpine meadows and scrub are found.
The primary concern for many
Spanish Mountain areas is the tremendous pressure resulting from tourism and other commercial activity, which endangers the natural inheritance of these areas. There are other mountain areas characterized by very low levels of vegetation of plants.
