The Prado museum of Barcelona is famous for its collection of quality and variety. The great works of Rubens, Titian, Goya, El Greco, Ribera and Murillo can be found here. It is said that the wife of Ferdinand VII, was the encouragement for the establishment of the museum. Statue of the lady has been made by Alvarez Cubero. It was opened as a royal museum in 1819.
Some collection from the Museum of La Trinidad has kept here. It is said that this museum was established for preserving the art which got destroyed massacre of the monastries.There were some donations and adoptions which increased the collection of the museum.
