in Spain are increasing day by day. A lot of care is taken on the health care issues in Spain. All most all of the hospitals and nursing homes are up to date and well equipped. The doctors and pediatricians are excellent.

The main problem in the healthcare system is the service of the nurses. The nurses of Spain though well trained do not render any personal care or feeding. The entire extra care has to be taken by the family members. The hospitals give the permission to keep one of the family members with the patent for 24 hours.

Travelers must remember that some of the medical staffs don't speak in English .Dental medical care in Spain is totally private.

Travelers before setting foot in Spain should apply for the European Health Insurance card. Under this scheme the travelers will get emergency health care treatments in Spain. But the travelers should remember that this scheme does not cover any treatment for ongoing treatments, full maternity care and vaccinations.

Private health insurance is mostly offered on the coastal areas. Pensioners don't have to pay any thing on the medicines which they buy. There is a discount of 60% on the medicines if the person has the European Health Insurance card

One or the other chemist shops have to remain open. Chinese and herbal clinics are also there as alternatives. The chemist's shops are marked with a green cross so that they are easily traced. The condition of the tap water has been improved to ensure that pure water is supplied to the common man.

Health care in Spain is an important issue and a lot is being done to improve it. A number of health care projects have been taken up by the government of Spain.
