Till the 1960's La Manga remained unspoilt before being explored by the tourist industry. La Manga has sandy beaches which stretch more than 40 km. El Galan and Pino are the beaches that face the Mar Menor are very serene, while Pedrucho and El Arenal are the Mediterranean facing beaches which are livelier. During the summer months La Manga, Spain is visited by thousands of tourists, but towards the northern end on the Mar Manor side it is more tranquil. On the northern end we get into the area of canals, with its bridges, which is known as Veneziola. The old traditional techniques of fishing are still used which can be witnessed here.
