South Korea is officially known as the Republic of Korea.

South Korea experienced decades of authoritarian Government that led to frequent changes of the Constitution. At last
South Korea gained a political stability with the official embrace of the Americanized democracy. But the stability did not come in a whisker. It was finally that the
Presidential election Act of 1987 brought some relief to the citizens of
South Korea. With the regulation of this Act, the President's election was held peacefully. The President's election started operating from that period. The Sixth Constitution was established in 1987 that brought peace to the citizens as well as the stability of
South Korea economy. For the last two decades,
South Korea carries on with a multi-party democracy.
South Korea has earned fame in the international arena for being the host of 1988 Summer Olympics and 2002 World Cup Soccer Tournament.
