South American Regions

South American regions have a wide range of variety regarding the geography of the countries, their history, culture and other aspects of a nation's life. South America continent has a great geographical variety.
In the western part of this continent there is the Pacific ocean. The northern and the eastern part of South America is bordered by the Atlantic ocean. To the north west portion of this continent there are North America and the Caribbean Sea. South America regions are actually made of the countries that lie in this continent.

The countries that are situated in this continent, bear the characteristic features regarding geography and other aspects of this continent. In the souther part of the South American region there is the great land area that is called the New World. South America has a number of islands that are part of some or other nations in this country. Some islands like the Lesser, Antilles are on the tectonic plate named the Caribbean plate. Some other islands are in the northern part of the continent and some of them are Aruba, Barbados, Trinidad and many more. These island nations actually belong to the subregions of this continent. Geographically South America has a number of natural wonders that are part of many of its geographic regions. The world's highest falls, the Angel Falls is situated in the country of Venezuela. The largest river and the longest mountain range of the world is also situated in different regions of this continent.
