Costa Rica Population is consisted of 4,133,882 people. The population growth rate of the country is 1.412%. 94% of the population are White (including mestizo),
while 3% are Black, 1% Amerindian, 1% Chinese and 1% from other ethnic groups. Spanish is the official language but English is also used.

The age structure of Costa Rica Population can be divided in the following manner. Age 0-14 years: 27.8%, 15-64 years: 66.4%, 65 years and above: 5.8%. The birth rate is 18.02 births/ 1,000 population while the death rate is 4.39 deaths/1,000 population. The total fertility rate of the country is 2.21 children born/woman.


People above 15 years can read and write. 96% of the Population of Costa Rica are literate. 95.9% of them are male whereas 96.1% are female. People can follow any religion they want. The main religions Population in Costa Rica follow are Roman Catholic 76.3%, Evangelical 13.7%, Jehovah's Witness 1.3%, Protestant 0.7%, other 4.8%.



Costa Rica Population are engaged in industries like microprocessors, food processing, textile and clothing, construction materials, fertilizer, plastic products etc. the agricultural products they take advantage of are bananas, pineapples, coffee, melons, ornamental plants, sugar, corn, rice, beans, potatoes, beef and timber.


Many of the people belong to the Spanish origin. A large number of Europeans ca be found here. Few of the native Indians are also to be seen in Costa Rica. The Jamaican immigrant workers came to this place in th e19th century. Costa Rica Population also hold people from mixed origin because of the sexual relation between the Europeans and the indigenous people.
