Free and compulsory Peru Education is provided to the children of age group of 7 to 16 years. Peru Education includes a large number of schools, colleges and universities.
During the year 1980 system of Peru Education comprised of –
Nursery and Kindergarten
Basic education which included Primary and Secondary School
Higher Education which included pre university and university
During the year 1997 there were 1,969,501 students in secondary schools. During the year 1998 4,185,489 children took admission in primary schools. In the year 1946 free secondary education was started.
In the year 1988 Peru Education included over 27,600 schools. During the year 1990 28 % people in Peru were recruited in primary or secondary schools of Peru.
In the mid 19th century most of the institutions of education were functioned privately. Each teacher opened his/her own institutes and acquired a business of paying students through humble advertisements. Schools for women education was established by the Minister of Justice and Education during the year 1866. Afterwards primary education was announced free and compulsory for all the nationals of Peru.
