Panama Culture

Panama Culture is a mixed culture and the history of Panama speaks that for many years the Panamanians has lived alone and with the advent of 16th century the Spanish explorer entered to Panama and wit them the Spanish culture and tradition entered to the Culture Of Panama. Thus the present Panama Culture is the mix of both native culture and Spanish culture. The tribe “ Kuna” natives of Panama has an unchanged culture and even today the Kuna live the very old traditional style as they lived previously .The Kuna basically has a strong family ties and a simple lifestyle and they follow a matriarchal society.

The present Panama Culture puts great emphasis on the greeting and courtesies and whatever be the place the etiquettes are bound to take a first seat .Panamanian women embrace lightly or they brush cheeks while kissing but hardly they do handshake rather than business meetings .Outward appearance of Panamanians are considered relaxed, easy going and much informal lifestyle is seen. The Panama Culture puts emphasis on the personal relationships and they hardly take time to establish a personal relationship.

As the location of Panama is very much suited for the international trade the citizen of Panama are open to all kind of culture and religion and there thrive almost all kinds of religions. Spanish and English are the most widely used languages and education is necessary for the children.

Culture Of Panama consists of six different Indian cultures and each of those practices their own ancestral origin and customs. Folklore is common in every province in Panama and that oozes well in their dance, music and even reflected in their cuisines. The oldest church of the America is located in “Nata” and its one of the primitive city of Panama.

The Panama carnival is the prevalent example of History and Culture Of Panama and that is held in February every year. Thus the Panama Culture is a display of various traditional culture in tune to each so perfectly and an amazing part of South America culture.
