South Africa Government

South Africa Government is a constitutional democracy, which operates under a Westminster-styled parliamentary system. South Africa Government boasts for its three winged government system with an independent judiciary.

Legislature of South Africa:

The legislature of South Africa also known as the Parliament of South Africa is lawmaking body of the government. It also supervises the actions of the executive and judiciary arm of the government. The South Africa boasts a bicameral Parliament, which consists of the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces.

National Executive of South Africa:

The national executive of South Africa consisted of the President, Deputy President, the Speaker of the National Assembly, and the members of Parliament. There are various ministries that perform different functions.

Judiciary of South Africa:

The independent Judiciary of South Africa Government is based on Roman-Dutch law and English common law, which is divided into following parts:

  • Magistrates Courts of South Africa: In Magistrate court, the cases involving minor crimes are heard. Civil cases concerning less than R100 000 is heard here.
  • High Courts of South Africa: High Court is the court of appeal for major civil and criminal cases as well as for the cases pending from the magistrate’s courts.
  • Supreme Court of South Africa: Supreme Court is the ultimate court of plea for the matters not related to the constitution of South Africa.
  • Constitutional Court of South Africa: Constitutional Court is the ultimate court of plea for affairs pertaining to the constitution of South Africa.
