Applicants should submit fully filled up BI-73 application form.
The passport officer has to be satisfied with all the legal documents.

Validity of old South Africa passports
The old South Africa passports which have been issued before 22nd May 1996 will remain valid till their dates expire. Old format South Africa passports which have been issued with a validity period of less than 10 years will be valid for ten years.
The Director-General has the power to cancel the issue of the South Africa passports if he finds that there are any loopholes or lack of fulfillment of formalities.
