In the recent past the political news of Somalia concerns the many civil wars that has been causing much ruin to the country. After the over throw of the Siad Barre in 1986, the administration of Somalia has been intervened by the UN, TFG, ARPCT, ICU, Ethiopia and recently America.

- Military troops from Uganda are to remain in the Somalia from July, 2007 to January, 2008. The decision was taken by the African Union and Peace Security Council. The primary objective is to maintain peace in the region.
- The United Nations Refugees Agency which has always taken a keen on helping the ordinary people affected by war has recently taken steps donate $48 million among the refugee Somalis people.
- The Somalis troop has been reportedly plundering neighborhood marketing places to sustain themselves.
- Previously transportation of food to Somalia was prohibited by Kenya. Recently the ban has been lifted to meet the needs of the hungry mouths rendered homeless by the civil uproar.
