Slovenia flag has three golden stars which are the symbol of Celje arms. The white color represents the mountains and the blue wavy colors represent the sea .The country of Slovenia has varied features of mountains and sea. This is reflected in the flag.
Slovenia flag History
Earlier the flag featured a golden eagle which had red claws. The background was blue. After some time, Vienna wanted the flag silver beasts instead of gold. Later these colors were change into white, blue and red. There were three horizontal strips and this was the official flag of the country till 1945.The emigrants also used this flag for some times.
Modern Slovenia Flag
Slovenia hosted its national flag on 25th June when it got independence from Yugoslavia. The flag was hoisted at the parliament of Slovenia. Due to inadequate flags there a number of plain tricolor flags of Slovenia were hoisted. The Law of the national symbols adopted the flag on 20 0ctober 1994.
Flag Day in Slovenia
Flag Day in Slovenia is celebrated 7th April. All the celebrations are done at the geometrical hub of Slovenia. In the year 2001 a solemn celebration of the flag was held. It was the tenth anniversary of the flag.
Slovenia flag is a symbol of pride for the country.
