Education in Slovakia is divided into three parts. The first part includes the primary education. The second part comprises the secondary education and the third part comprises the Higher education. Slovakia started a unique program which includes nine years of primary education, aided by the Government.
Primary education in Slovakia:
Primary education in Slovakia is divided into two stages. The first primary stage A Slovakian child joins the school at the age of six years and continues till the age of ten years he learns the basics of language, mathematics and so on. The second primary stage begins at the age of ten years which continues till the age of fifteen years. Here the subjects are varied and contains in depth analysis of each subject such as science subjects like chemistry, physics and biology and humanities includes geography, history and foreign languages. They have special art school which provide training in drama and playing musical instruments
Secondary Education in Slovakia:
Secondary Education in Slovakia can stretch up to four years normally or up to eight years if the student had spent less time in the primary level. Grammar and languages, science subjects are taught in the secondary schools. Among the others there are the professional schools, the vocational schools and grouped secondary schools .Changes have been made in education system from 2005.
Higher education in Slovakia:
For Higher education in Slovakia there are public schools, private schools and state schools. The state schools include medical and military schools. All these schools can again be divided into different levels such as bachelor degree, master’s degree in subjects like pharmacy, law, philosophy, theology, architecture and medicine and PhD. in philosophy, medicine and in humanities.
