Cuchara

Cuchara is a beautiful ski resort in the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Though this ski resort is not as well acclaimed as other resorts of Colorado , it still has a special charm of its own.

It is located in beautiful surroundings overlooking the Spanish Peaks on its western side. Not only limited to skiing, it also has various recreational and relaxation facilities. This is one of the reasons that the resort has become a preferred destination for families on ski vacation.

Location of Cuchara ski resort has enhanced its beauty. It is located along the Highway of Legends in south Colorado . The resort is also easily accessible from various places in United States like Colorado Springs, Denver, Pueblo, Taos and Walsenburg. Nearest railway station to the resort is that of Trinidad.

Skiing in Cuchara is a lifetime experience. Spread over 230 acres of skiable area, the resort has 28 well-developed ski trails. Vertical drop in the ski resort records 1,563 feet, while the summit elevation reaches 10,811 feet. There are eight kilometers of cross-country trails too. Most of the ski runs are suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers. There are five ski lifts in the form of chairlifts and surface lifts to carry skiers to the main ski area. Late-November to early April is the ski season at Cuchara .

Accommodation in Cuchara ski resort is arranged in several hotels, villas, cottages and chalets. Other facilities provided by the resort include restaurants, cafes, bars, lounges, ski rentals and ski shops.
